We are proud to announce that our very own Oasys MassMotion has been recognised for its valuable contribution to projects and the impact it has had on pedestrian flow management during the COVID-19 pandemic. MassMotion was named ‘Best Innovation: Simulation’ as part of the CogX Awards 2022 this month.
Advanced pedestrian simulation software, Oasys MassMotion, is a comprehensive tool that can be easily customised to model the flow of people through or within a space or building in different scenarios. By predicting the movement of hundreds or thousands of individual personalities in a complex 3D environment, MassMotion enables users to test an unlimited number of scenarios to develop solutions that are incredibly reliable and accurate. MassMotion projects typically adopt a four-stage strategy to arrive at a layout that optimises user experience.

MassMotion has been used around the world in the design of high-profile buildings and more recently has played a crucial role in helping our clients chart a safe path back to normal operations in today’s post-COVID-19 world. Our winning entry showcased how MassMotion was used to analyse the capacity of Whittington Hospital A&E so that they could safely manage a seasonal increase in patients, whilst maintaining social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic. You can read about the Arup-led project at Whittington Emergency Department here.
Over the past 5 years, the CogX Awards have advocated for some of the best practitioners of innovation worldwide. They explore and celebrate visionaries from all walks of life who are hoping to make a difference to the world.
We are delighted that Oasys MassMotion has been recognised in the ‘Best Innovation’ category. A huge well done to all other award winners!
