The Digital Transformation Awards are a great way to give our innovative thinkers at Arup a chance to present their work. And once revealed, these innovative thinkers are given an opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge further and help Arup to harness digital.
The judges had this to say about the entry: “This submission demonstrated a proactive, out of the box approach during unprecedented times, adapting and enhancing existing technology to address current and future client needs. It added value to the client and created opportunity for future collaborations beyond its initial purpose.”
MassMotion is a pedestrian experience design software tool that was developed to help solve a clear need within the industry as existing crowd simulation solutions were too slow, difficult to communicate to stakeholders, and did not fit neatly within design workflows. The software provides solutions which empower users to test the impact of crowd flow, whilst helping to take risk out of design and operational changes rapidly in an accurate virtual environment.

The judges added that MassMotion is, “An excellent example of innovating an existing offering to solve a completely new problems, it has had (and continues to have) direct impact in provision of health services for communities, and in pushing the boundaries of where existing design tools can have impact to improve a broader range of outcomes including health and equity.”
The whole Oasys team are incredibly proud and honoured to have been commended for a Digital Transformation Award within the firm and that the MassMotion team have been celebrated for all their hard work.
