Once again, Oasys is a proud sponsor of the Structural Awards, which this year will be announced at London’s Brewery on 16th November.
Widely recognised as the premier awards in the structural engineering word, the Institution of Structural Engineers showcase for engineering achievement has been celebrating structural engineers as innovative, creative design professionals and the guardians of public safety for over 50 years.
Oasys was founded to support engineers at the cutting edge, and our software is used by the professionals working on projects across the board. We have chosen to sponsor the Award for Structural Artistry, celebrating projects where the engineers imagination has, perhaps, the most free rein. The formal definition of the category is that it is open to projects that would of been an adequate and worthy solution but was transformed by the vision and skill of the structural engineer into something exceptional.
Shortlisted entries in this category include Hull’s Solar Gate, a stunning 10m high steel ‘sundial’ commissioned to mark Hull’s year as UK City of Culture in 2017 and a project for which engineers relied heavily on Oasys GSA.
Other shortlisted entries among the 53 finalists across 12 categories that have benefitted from Oasys software include the V&A Grain Silo Museum in Cape Town and the innovative Optus Stadium in Perth, Western Australia. Over the next fortnight we’ll be taking a closer look at these shortlisted projects and how Oasys software aided them.
We look forward to seeing the winners receive their due recognition at the Awards ceremony.
